  • Singhgad is the base camp for Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra.

  • After breakfast, start your trek from Thachru to Parvati Bagh.

  • Reach Bheem Dwar in the evening and Parvati Bagh is 2 Km from Bheem Dwar.

  • Early morning, Today is the last stretch and most difficult part of the trek.

  • The second stretch is from Nain Sarovar to Srikhand Mahadev (3 Km) which is the most difficult part of the trek.

Frequently Asked Questions

The yatra is usually organized in the month of July for 10 to 12 days, when the weather is relatively stable and the snow is less. However, the weather can change anytime and one should be prepared for rain, cold, and snow.

The registration is mandatory for the yatra, and the fee is Rs. 250 per person. The registration can be done online or offline at the SDM office Nirmand or the base camp Singhgad. The registration link is here.

The yatra is a challenging and adventurous trek, and one should carry the following items:

  • A backpack with rain cover
  • A sleeping bag and a mat
  • A water bottle and a thermos
  • A flashlight and extra batteries
  • A first aid kit and personal medicines
  • Warm clothes, gloves, socks, and cap
  • Raincoat or poncho
  • Trekking shoes and slippers
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Dry fruits, chocolates, and energy bars
  • A camera and a power bank (optional)

The yatra is not recommended for people below 18 years or above 60 years of age, or those who have any medical condition or disability. The yatra is also not suitable for pregnant women or those who have high blood pressure, heart problems, asthma, or diabetes. The yatra requires physical fitness and mental strength, and one should do some exercises and yoga before the yatra. The yatra also requires faith and devotion, and one should respect the nature and the culture of the locals. The yatra is a spiritual journey, and one should avoid alcohol, tobacco, or any intoxicants during the yatra.

Accommodation during the Yatra is mostly in Guest house and Home Stays..

Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra – A journey of faith

Situated at a height of 5150 meters in Himchal Pradesh, Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra is considered the toughest Yatra in North India. With nominal registration charges of Rs 150/- per yatri, this 35 kms trek is undertaken only by 10 to 12 thousand devotees every year. It takes roughly 3 days to climb to the peak and two days to descend to the starting point i.e. Jaon Village. Steep climbs, dense forests, glaciers of all sizes, breathtaking views all throughout the Yatra, particularly on full moon night, rare Himalayan flower known as Brahm Kamal are some of the features of this amazing pilgrimage.
