BINSAR WILDLIFE SANCTURY #1

It is the home of 200 species of bird, Barking Deer, Himalayan bear, leapord, fox, musk deer, langur, porcupine, flying squirrel, chital, jungle cat etc. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is dense and animals are easy to spot. Binsar wildlife sanctuary is spread over an area of 47.79square kilometers. It was established in the year 1988. Pine, oak and rhododendron trees are found in abundant amount at Binsar Wildlife sanctuary.

BINESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE #2

It is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Bineshwar is the major crowd puller of Binsar. A visit in this sacred temple of 13th century is a must. This temple was constructed by King Kalyan of the Chand Dynasty. Apart from being a religious place, Bineshwar Mahadev Temple boasts of great architectural excellence. The temple can be an ideal stoppage point on the way to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary.

GOLU DEVTA TEMPLE #3

The Golu Devta Temple is home to the deity that is very popular all over Kumaon and is 24 kms from Binsar.

PARIYADEVA-PASHAN #4

It is believed that the hills of Binsar are a reservoir of ancient relics. Pariyadeva-Pashan is a point from where one can see a stone bearing cup marks, belonging to the megalithic age.

ZERO POINT #5

Located within the Binsar Wildlife Santuary, this is the place where one can get a glimpse of 300 km panoramic view of the Himalayan Mountains such as Kedarnath, Shivling, Trishul and Nanda Devi. To reach the point, one has to walk inside the sanctuary for a kilometer and half.

KHALI ESTATE #6

Set amidst the Binsar Sanctuary is the Khali Estate - a 26 acre of serene and beautiful land. The estate was once the home of Sir Henry Ramsay, the commissioner of Kumaon from 1856 to 1884. MAHAMRITYUNJAY TEMPLE #7

The Mahamrityunjay temple is the largest and oldest temple in the Jageshwar temple complex. This temple of Shiva is eastern facing and the Linga is worshipped as the saviour from death - The unique linga has an eye shaped opening. Pilgrims believe that reciting the Mahamritunjaya Mantra is a fruitful, auspicious and powerful method of self-realisation, removal of evil effects, and freedom from all kinds of fears, illness and negativity.

DANDESHWAR TEMPLE #9

Situated slightly upstream from the Jageshwar temple complex, the Dandeshwar temple complex is in a dilapidated condition. The stone lingam is a natural rock, and, unlike the lingams of the Jageshwar complex, is not carved.

JAGESHWAR TEMPLE #10

Jageshwar is located at an altitude of 1870 meters. Jageshwar is the 8th Jyotirling among the Twelve and has great religious value. Jageshwar Shiv temple is one of the oldest shiva temple in India. Jageshwar is a Hindu pilgrimage town in Almora District, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located 36 km northeast of Almora and around 101 Kms away from Binsar in Kumaon Region of Uttarakhand Uttranchal.

GANANATH TEMPLE #11

A popular cave temple of Lord Shiva, Gananath is situated near Satrali village (Takula) at a height of 2116 m above sea level. The temple is at a distance of around 47 km from Almora and is thronged by people during the fair held on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. The fair is popular among the locals for its pomp and fervour. Rhythmic hymns, appealing songs and fascinating folk dance fill the air of the temple echoing with these joyous sounds.Gananath is a Shiva temple located near village Satrali near Takula.

KASAR DEVI #12

Kasar Devi is a village near Almora, Uttarakhand. It is known for the Kasar Devi temple, a Devi temple, dedicated to Kasar Devi, after whom the place is also named. The temple structure dates to the 2nd century CE. Swami Vivekananda visited Kasar Devi in 1890s, and numerous western seeker, Sunyata Baba (Alfred Sorensen and Lama Anagarika Govinda.
