This apart, there were so many wows during our 3 day Republic day weekend stay here, the fresh wholesome food, the silent and exceptional housekeeping, the tastefully done upholstery and of course the great great property... For Tagore enthusiasts, this is also where Tagore spent some time, writing.
Fantastic property... rustic and charming. Each of the cottages are unique, some dating back to the time of Tagore. It's believed that the great poet wrote parts of his famous Geetanjali while staying here. The food was yummy (they served us fresh home made preserves, breads and cookies) and the staff were extremely courteous, friendly and accomodative; special mention has to me made of Vasant, Anand and Suresh. The open to sky buffet lunch setting against the backdrop of the mountain ranges is refreshing and enhances your hunger pangs. The only con is walking back uphill to the cottages after lunch with a full tummy. Nonetheless, Ramgarh Bunglows was an awesome experience worth visiting.
