Full disclosure-I've only toured the hotel and eaten at the restaurant. I haven't spent the night-yet. :-) Lunch in the restaurant. After two weeks in India, the raw, fresh, delicious salad hit the spot-the kitchen works with triple treated water and not only did the food not make me sick, it made me very happy! So tasty! The hotel/rest are well situated at the top of the hill near Laxman Jhula, just off the main road. The rooms are well appointed. The staff I met, including general manager Bharat, are gracious and accommodating. I look forward to actually staying there someday!
Lovely hotel - clean rooms, clean mattresses/pillows/towels, clean bathrooms, hot water - for us, after a long trek and bus journey, everything seemed even more luxurious - am given to understand it has been recently refurbished. No complaints at all! Heartily recommend! They have a restaurant too - though the buffet breakfast wasn't available, the kitchen was quick to serve a few dishes my son and I ordered. If anything, I think they should look at opening the restaurant by 7 am, rather than the 8 am that it opens at currently.
I had the pleasure of staying here in March 2018. Everything was perfect - the rooms, the food, the location but most importantly, the staff. They were simply amazing. The hotel manager Bharat went over and above his duties. He was welcoming, informative, friendly and super helpful. He even took my friend to the eye hospital on his motorbike! The other staff: Ashish, Dravya, Shubham, Chandraveer, Surresh, Vijay, Jayant, Rajesh and Rakesh were so polite and couldn't do enough to make our stay the best. So a great big thank you to everyone at the Holy River Hotel - I will be back in June :)
