Wanted a 2-day escape into the hills, and the Kumaon has proven to be the perfect location for it. Breathtaking views, serene, and captivating - anywhere one looks! The view of the Himalayas was unprecedentedly stunning, and we were blessed with clear skies for the duration of our visit. And the clear skies gave us a dazzling view of the stars too.
Away from hustle bustle of any kind, the Kumaon promises to be a highly promising retreat for anyone looking for one.

The food was very good, and fortunately, instead of menus, the chef chooses for us - and what choices. I have never felt such lack of guilt despite eating more than I planned - healthy, delicious and quite thoughtfully chosen dishes, and the desserts were absolutely amazing. Great food.

The service has been the high point of the journey. The staff members were polite, and very helpful. Having a local staff does provide a lot of insight of the area, as well as nice anecdotes of the region, people and history. It was great to interact with them, and a special shout-out to Suraj, Naveen, Meenakshi, Gajendra, Rohit, Pushkar and all the lovely team members there.
Abhinav was a delight to talk with, and his company was very pleasant whenever we met him. The love for wildlife flows into the conversation, and one sees a passion, and happiness for their work in the staff members, very pleasant to experience. An excellent team awaits anyone planning a trip to the Kumaon.

The rooms were comfortable, warm, and equipped. But the view from every single room, as from the Resteraunt, was captivating. The buildings are made such that there�s ample privacy in the rooms, and not once in our stay we felt the presence of other guests, except at the meals. Commendable architecture, and quite comfortable.
