Gwaldam is a hill station perched at an altitude of 1700 mts above sea level in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state. It lies on the route which connects Garhwal region with Kumaon. Gwaldam is a sleepy little town, on the border of Garhwal & Kumaon hills located amidst green jungles and apple orchards. Gwaldam offers a fascinating view of Himalayan peaks Nanda Devi (7817 mt), Trishul (7120 mt) and Nanda Ghuti (6309 mt).
There is a small village in Gwaldam situated 1.5kms from the market which follows Buddhism. The Baudh Math here is worth a visit. The sanctum is lined with statues of various incarnation of Budda.
Badharangadi is situated 6kms from Gwaldam on a high mountain at an elevation of 2,260mts above sea level. This place is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The kings of yester-years lived here and the remains of the forts of those days still lie here..
Situated 3kms from Gwaldam, Gwalnaag is located on the Dhalua meadow. The slopes here are ideal for skiing. 2kms further from here, the Garud Valley looks like a diamond studded bowl.
Hidden in a nook in the ridge along gentle stream 9 km cut out of Gwaldam the road to Debal, Machhi Tal came up in 1928, when the British thought they would breed fish here for personal consumption. This tranquil spot amidst thick forests makes for a lovely picnic spot.
17 kilometres from Karanprayag on the Karanprayag - Ranikhet road, are a group of sixteen temples, belonging to the Gupta period. Among them is the Narayan temple, where a black stone idol of Vishnu, three feet high is enshrined. This place is within the Badrikshetra, and Badrinath being the name for Vishnu, the temple is known as the Adi Badri.
It is believed that Adi Guru Shankaracharya had initiated the construction of these temples. The main temple of Narayan is distinguished by a raised platform in the pyramidal form, where the black stone idol of lord Vishnu is enshrined.l.
The state-run Angora farm is 1 km ahead from main Gwaldam's main market. It was established in 1987, the farm has five shillas or homes for 170 mohair goats...
Gwaldam with its salubrious weather and unspoilt serenity is a little heaven, nestling in the woods. The entire area up to Talwari is full of orchids. A 3 km trek amidst bewitchingly beautiful nature in the company of nameless flowers, endless springs and countless birds will take you to Badhangarh temple, perched on a narrow ridge. From here you can have a glimpse of the never seen marvels of the Himalayas.
The famous Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra goes through Gwaldam. Trek to the mysterious Roopkund Lake is the most renowned trekking excursion of Gwaldam. It is situated just 38kms away from the famous hill station, Kausani. The beauty of Gwaldam is still quite untouched and less known travel destination.

Fantastic trip and we enjoyed every moment of it. Tanuja did a great job working with us to understand our needs and create the perfect itinerary for us. We had very specific requests and Tanuja was incredibly patient with us, making multiple changes to the itinerary. She was also very responsive to email, oftentimes responding in less than 12 hrs. When we had 1 small glitch with scheduling during our travel, she fixed the problem right away. Overall, a well planned schedule with a good balance of tours and free time with excellent choice of hotel locations. Our trip went smooth. We had a great time. Our agent Mr. Arun and his team were very responsive and flexible. They were able to arrange everything for our 2 week trip in less than a month and within the budget we gave them. We don't have any complaints.....Thanks Allseasonsz!!!
The staff with the company were very friendly and honest with their recommendations. The itinerary was well planned, with good mix of free time and touring. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly without having to worry at all with the planning. .
We recently completed a 12 Days trip to Uttarakhand. The exeperience was mixed, had to change the room in Mussoorie hotel Green N Breeze as the size was vey small and our family could hardly fit in and faced issues regarding going to Lal Tibba and Landour as the taxi we hired from the company refused to go there citing the local txi union issues and we have to pay INR 2000 from our pocket.The Jim Corbett safari was average as there was no tiger spooting though our driver Nandan tried his best to take us around the different spots where we could spot one.We again faced the challenge during the room changing in Hotel Ashdale Nainital as the room allocated was facing the back wall of the garden and in the process wasted our precious 4-5 hrs.
All Seasons helpdesk persons Ravi & Saurabh and tried their best to resolve all the issues we faced but in the whole process we wasted the significant amount of time during our trip.
