Buddhist Khamba Temple
Owned by the Govt. of Uttarakhand, one and half kms away from Gwaldam Bus Station, stands a Buddhisht established temple in 1953s. The followers of Buddhism came here about four decades. It seems like one is in Ladakh and Dharmshala (H.P.).This very famous Buddhist Khamba Temple is situated about 1.5nkms from the market. The Bauddh Math is truly worth to visit. The sanctum is lined with statues of various incarnation of Buddha.There is a small village in Gwaldam situated 1.5kms from the market which follows Buddhism.
The Baudh Math here is worth a visit. The sanctum is lined with statues of various incarnation of Budda.At Baghtoli (1 km from the Gwaldam Bus Stand), a short 5 minute walk from the road leads to a Bhotia settlement of 15 families who settle here in the late 1950s. The gompa here known as #Bodh Mandir, was built in 1989. You will spot its bright yellow roof from distance. The sanctum is lined with statues of various incarnations of the Buddha. A narrow staircase leads to the rooftop of the monastery from prayer flags.
