Sainik School, Ghorakhal is a Sainik School established by the Sainik Schools Society in 1966. It is located in the midst of the serene Beauty of the Great Himalayas at Ghorakhal, 4 kilometres next to the village Jeolikot, in Nainital district of the state of Uttarakhand, India. The school prepares its students academically, physically and psychologically for efficient handling of whatever awaits them in the outside world at the end of their schooling. Sainik School, Ghorakhal was established on 21 March 1966.
The school was built on the 500 Acre Ghorakhal Estate of the then Nawab of Rampur, near Jeolikot in Nainital District. The estate has flourished to a great extent since its undertaking, owing to the support of the State government and the Ministry of Defence.
It was one of the first Sainik Schools to be built.The school is situated at an altitude of about 6,000 feet (1,800 m) above sea level amid the idyllic surroundings of the Kumaon Hills. It is 4 km from Jeolikot and has the temple of Golu Devta.The school's extra curricular activities includes school band, debate competitions, gardening, photography, music and drama classes and many more, which help the cadets to improve their personality.Cadets are given the opportunity to take part in various interschool competitions both in Nainital and in various parts of the country.
The school had recently trained cadets by renowned experts of the National School of Drama (NSD) culminating in a play at the prestigious National School of Drama which was widely appreciated .
We really appreciated the advice our travel agent provided prior to finalizing our trip itinerary and then the detailed planning on his part to put it all together. Everyone who was to meet with us did. Everyone was very helpful, especially the guides whose knowledge of their area was phenomenal. Tasting local food and refreshments and the accommodations in small interesting hotels is the most enjoyable and memorable part of the trip.

This travel agency put together an amazing itinerary for a week in Uttarakhand for our family. We planned this trip without a lot of lead time and our travel agency was quick to respond and made sure our needs, and the needs of our 2 year-old were taken care of. They booked wonderful centrally located boutique hotels in each of the cities we visited. We were looking for a relaxing week to explore Uttarakhand, and that is exactly what we had..

We had an unbelievable time in Uttarakhand this winter. Allseasonsz travel agency provided us with excellent hotels, located in the center of the cities, comfortable, and close to the main sights and trendy restaurants. The guides and drivers for our private tours were phenomenal - very knowledgable and well spoken. We have a family of 6, so they arranged transportation for us in a private van, which was beyond convenient! Lastly, they added stops to our itinerary, that I myself would not have chosen. But those spots ended up being some of our favorite places to see! Our travel agency was also extremely flexible in working with us - they respected our desire to have some downtime with the family, as well as making reservations for us at wonderful restaurants!
