  • The trip was fabulous. Shimla is an amazing place with lots to see and do. Our tour operator was excellent. All of their suggestions and recommendations were solid. We loved our hotel and the location. All the tours were high-quality and we experienced no difficulties with pickups. Mr. Nitin was extremely pleasant to work with and truly wanted us to have a fabulous time.

Jim Corbett National Park, which is a part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve, a Project Tiger Reserve lies in the Corbett district of Uttarakhand. The magical landscape of Corbett is well known and fabled for its tiger richness. Established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett has the glory of being India's oldest and most prestigious National Park. It is also being honored as the place where Project Tiger was first launched in 1973. This unique tiger territory is best known as the father who gave birth of the Project Tiger in India to protect the most endangered species and the Royal of India called Tigers.

Kosi dam

It has an average elevation of 345 metres (1,132 feet). Ramnagar is located at the foothills of the Himalayas on the bank of river Kosi. The town is well-known for being the getaway to Jim Corbett National Park and draws lot of tourist attention because of its geographical location. Its proximity to Corbett which is a famous hill station of Northern India makes it even more popular. Ramnagar is the getaway to western Kumaon and Chamoli. It is also the commencement point of Kumaon Hills with the nearby town of Haldwani. Ramnagar is also famous for International "Litchi farming". There is a Kosi Barrage in Ramnagar.

The Bijrani Range

To the south-east, nearest to Ramnagar, is the smaller portion called the Bijrani Range (entry through Amdanda Gate). Criss-crossed with many tracks, this area is preferred for day visits, and makes for excellent wildlife tracking by jeep. One could do a game drive here in the morning or afternoon or for the whole day. Elephant rides commence from the Bijrani Forest Rest House (FRH) in the morning or afternoon, subject to availability.

Gangotri to get polling booth

Gangotri, which is among the 4 revered Char Dham shrine towns in Uttarakhand, will get a polling booth for the first time in the Lok Sabha polls.
