Badrinath is one of the important pilgrim centers, the opening date of the temple this year is 29 th April 2012 and is flanked by Nar-Narayan Mountain ranges. The beautiful and colorful temple of Badrinathji is on the banks of river Alkananda, established by Adi Shankaracharya and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Neelkanth peak forms a splendid backdrop and opposite to the temple is holy hot water spring or Tapt kund. The temple opens every year in the month of Apr-May and closes for winters in the third week of November.

As Per local belief, present Kedarnath will disappear along with Badrinath and re-appear in Bhavishya Kedar temple at Joshimath. This temple has small shivling.Situated Near The Jyotimath, Bhavishya Kedar Is A Small Holy Temple Devoted To Lord Shiva And Goddess Parvati. Bhavishya Kedar As The Name Suggests, Is Believed To Be The Home Of Lord Kedar In Future. Presently The Temple Has An Image Of Parvati And Shivlinga.

Vishwanath Temple is also a famous temple in Uttarkashi and holds its description in the Skanda Purana. Dedicated to God Vishwanath, it houses a Shivlinga which is 60 cms tall and 90 cms in circumference. The temple is believed to be dated back to several centuries ago and is said to be built by Parashuram. It was renovated by Maharani Khaneti in 1857. A number of devotees visit the sacred temple from all across the country.The Temple has been referred to in Hindu Scriptures for a very long time and as a central part of worship in the Shaiva philosophy. It has been destroyed and re-constructed a number of times in the history. The last structure was demolished by Aurangzeb, the sixth Mughal emperor who constructed the Gyanvapi Mosque on its site.

Bhagirathi Shila is the rock, where King Bhagirath is said to have meditated. This stone near the temple of Ganga signifies the site where Goddess Ganga first stepped down to earth.Gangotri is a popular pilgrimage centre, which is located in the district of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. This place lies at an altitude of 3750 m above sea level in the Himalayan ranges. This place rests on the banks of River Bhahirathi. Gangotri is a holy site of both Char Dham and Do Dham Pilgrimage.

The revered shrine of Gangotri is situated at an altitude of 3,200 mts. above sea-level amidst a narrow glacial valley covered by a Pine and Cider forest! The visit to the shrine of Gangotri is one of the most important things to do, for the devout Hindu. So important is this sacred river that it is a religious duty to touch the lips of a dying Hindu with the water from this river (called Ganga Jal – or water from the Ganga) Visited by hundreds of thousands pilgrims every year, the 18th century Gangotri temple constructed by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa , is located near the spot where the goddess Ganga is said to have first descended on earth from heaven, as an answer to the prayers of King Bhagriath! Lord Shiva received Ganga into his matted locks to break the great force of her fall, and gently uncurled a tassel of his hair thereby freeing her! From there the Ganga emerged into many streams and the one which started from Gangotri was called Bhagirathi.

Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib Ji, is a Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage site in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh Ji (1666–1708), the tenth Sikh Guru, and finds mention in Dasam Granth, a work dictated by Guruji himself. With its setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff, it is according to the Survey of India located in the Himalayas at an elevation of 4,632 meters (15,197 feet). It is approached from Gobindghat on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The main town near Gobindghat is Joshimath. .

After that we visited the Narsingh Temple. When the Badrinath Temple is closed in winter, devotees throng to worship at the Narsimha Temple ,which is the winter adobe of Sri Badrinath. The temple is about 1200 years old. Dedicated to Vishnu, the presiding deity of the temple is Narsimha, the half-man, half-lion and fourth incarnation of Vishnu. The characteristic feature of the deity is that its left wrist is very thin and is shrinking day by day and it is said that the day when it will fall, the route to Badrinath will get closed permanently by a major land slide.Situated some 30 yards from the Narsimha Temple, the Vasudeva Temple is one of the most famous Vishnu temples in India.

Yogadhyan Badri, also called Yoga Badri, is located at Pandukeshwar at the elevation of 1,829 metres (6,001 ft), close to Govind Ghat and is as ancient as the main Badrinath temple.[9] Pandukeshwar is located en route from Govind Ghat to Hanuman Chatti, 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) away from Hanuman Chatti.Legend has it that King Pandu, father of the five Pandavas - heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, meditated here to god Vishnu to cleanse him of the sin of killing of two mating deer, who were ascetics in their previous lives. The Pandavas were also born here and Pandu died and attained salvation here Pandu is believed to have installed the bronze image of Vishnu in the Yogadhyan Badri shrine The image is in a meditative posture and thus the image is called Yoga-dhyan (mediative) Badri. The idol is life size and has been carved from Shaligram stone.

Mata Murti Temple is situated at a distance of 3 km from Badrinath on the banks of River Alaknanda. This temple is dedicated to Mata Murti, the mother of two sons Narayana and Nara.

Triyuginarayan Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the Triyuginarayan town in Rudraprayag area, Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is devoted to god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of god Shiva's marriage to goddess Parvati saw by Vishnu at this venue and is in this manner a famous journey centre.

Ukhimath is a journey site in Rudraprayag locale, Uttarakhand, India. It is at a rise of 1311 meters and at a separation of 41 km from Rudraprayag. During the winters, the idols from Kedarnath temple, and Madhyamaheshwar are conveyed to Ukhimath and revered there for six months.

Panch Kedar alludes to five Hindu temples or heavenly places of the Shaivite group committed to god Shiva. They are situated in the Garhwal Himalayan district in Uttarakhand, India.
