Tashi Jong Monastery

Belonging to the Tashi Jong community of Tibetan refugees, the monastery is a beautiful structure. The temple is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Secondary prayer halls are situated on either side of the main garden. One can get a stunning view of the Kangra valley from the monastery. The complex also has a craft emporium where Tibetan handicrafts are up for sale.Tashi Jong Buddhist Monastery is arranged around 15kms from Palampur. The religious community is situated in Tashi Jong town, which is a little rustic zone arranged amongst Paprola and Taragarh. Home to the Drugpa Kagyu convention of Buddhism, this cloister is one of the schools of Kagyu custom built up by eighth Khamtrul Rinpoche, Dongyu Nyima. The religious community complex houses the principle sanctuary, the stupa of Khamtrul Rinpoche, and the Yamantak Retreat Center which is confined to the overall population.

Neugal Khad
