  • The trip was fabulous. Shimla is an amazing place with lots to see and do. Our tour operator was excellent. All of their suggestions and recommendations were solid. We loved our hotel and the location. All the tours were high-quality and we experienced no difficulties with pickups. Mr. Nitin was extremely pleasant to work with and truly wanted us to have a fabulous time.

Nandadevi-mela

The Nanda Devi Melas are held at CHAUKORI, CHAUKORI, Nauti, Dandidhara, Munsiyari and Ranikhet, of which the CHAUKORI and Roopkund fairs are the most famous ones. The Nanda Devi Jat is celebrated every year in the Nanda Devi temples spread across Garhwal and Kumaon. The festival commences on the day earmarked for the Devi’s visit to her maiti or parents’ home and culminates with the return to her husband’s home. This tradition is beautifully expressed in the folk songs of Uttarakhand.

Makar Sankranti

Makar Sankranti or Ghugutia is one of the famous Hindu festivals and is celebrated with lot of zeal in Uttarakhand. According to the Hindu scriptures, on this day, the sun enters the zodiac sign of Capricorn from the zodiac sign of Cancer. This day marks the northward transit (Uttarayan) of the sun. The migratory birds also return to the hills, since a change in season takes place. On Makar Sankranti people give Khichdi in charity and take a dip in holy rivers in Kumaun Bageshwar (Saryu and Gomti Sangam) and Ranibagh (Gaula). They also participate in the Uttarayani fairs to celebrate the festival of Ghughutia(also known as Kale Kauva).

Ganga Dussehra

Ganga Dusshera is celebrated in Uttarakhand with lot of enthusiasm. This festival starts on the tenth day of Jaishtha (May-June) according to the Hindu calendar. It begins on the Amavasya night (dark moon night) and continues till Dashami tithi or the tenth phase of the moon. The ‘Aarti’ is held in Haridwar and thousands of people attend it. The festival of Ganga Dusshera or Dasar sees the River Ganges worshipped for ten days by the people. During this period people douse themselves in the sacred river of the Ganges to wash themselves from all their past and present life sins.

Phooldei Chhamma chhei

Phool Dei is celebrated on the first day of the month of Chaitra in the month of March. On this day, young girls and children conduct most of the ceremonies. Young girls and children go to all the houses in the Mohalla or the Village with plates full of rice, jaggery, coconut, green leaves and flowers. In the olden times rice, jaggery etc. used to be brought in the baskets of ringal. But now with the changing times, children bring these things in the plates or thalis or plastic bags. They offer their good wishes for the prosperity of the household and are given blessings and presents (sweets, gur, money etc) in return. They sprinkle first flowers of the season and rice on the doorsteps of the neighbours and sing.

We really appreciated the advice our travel agent provided prior to finalizing our trip itinerary and then the detailed planning on his part to put it all together. Everyone who was to meet with us did. Everyone was very helpful, especially the guides whose knowledge of their area was phenomenal. Tasting local food and refreshments and the accommodations in small interesting hotels is the most enjoyable and memorable part of the trip.

Amazing...

This travel agency put together an amazing itinerary for a week in Uttarakhand for our family. We planned this trip without a lot of lead time and our travel agency was quick to respond and made sure our needs, and the needs of our 2 year-old were taken care of. Perfect Trip

We had an unbelievable time in Uttarakhand this winter. Allseasonsz travel agency provided us with excellent hotels, located in the center of the cities, comfortable, and close to the main sights and trendy restaurants. The guides and drivers for our private tours were phenomenal - very knowledgable and well spoken. We have a family of 6, so they arranged transportation for us in a private van, which was beyond convenient! Lastly, they added stops to our itinerary, that I myself would not have chosen. But those spots ended up being some of our favorite places to see! Our travel agency was also extremely flexible in working with us - they respected our desire to have some downtime with the family, as well as making reservations for us at wonderful restaurants!
