The revered shrine of Gangotri is situated at an altitude of 3,200 mts.
above sea-level amidst a narrow glacial valley covered by a Pine and Cider forest! The visit to the shrine of Gangotri is one of the most important things to do, for the devout Hindu. So important is this sacred river that it is a religious duty to touch the lips of a dying Hindu with the water from this river (called Ganga Jal – or water from the Ganga)
Visited by hundreds of thousands pilgrims every year, the 18th century Gangotri temple constructed by Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa , is located near the spot where the goddess Ganga is said to have first descended on earth from heaven, as an answer to the prayers of King Bhagriath! Lord Shiva received Ganga into his matted locks to break the great force of her fall, and gently uncurled a tassel of his hair thereby freeing her! From there the Ganga emerged into many streams and the one which started from Gangotri was called Bhagirathi.
The Pandavas, it is said, came here to perform the great 'Deva Yajna' to atone for the death of their kinsmen in the epic battle of Mahabharat. The temple is situated on the bank of the Bhagirathi and there are a number of Ashrams on the far side of the river, many of which provide accommodation facilities to the traveller.Months for visiting Gangotri temple- Gangotri temple opens on a fixed day each year, on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, that falls in the last week of April or first week of May, as per Hindu calendar.
On this day, the idol of the Goddess Ganga is brought here from Mukhyamath temple in Mukhba village, which is her home in winters, in a procession. This village is 20 km away from Gangotri and lies on a downward slope. The temple is closed on Diwali and the Goddess is taken back to Mukhyamath temple. The temple is closed due to heavy snowfall.
Fantastic Chardham Circuit trip over 11 days. The organisation was excellent. The guest houses we stayed in were great but most of all the driver Deepak were awesome. I would recommend this trip to anyone and will definitely use All Seasons again.

Our guides made an incredible experience better than anything I could have imagined. I wish I could tell them how much this experience has meant to us but there are not the words for it. Jim Corbett and Nanda Devi National Park were contrast at every turn, the people were warm and welcoming while we saw and experienced a life that we had no idea about. The environment and the animals were everything that we hoped and more! If anyone is considering a trip, go! You will not be disappointed or regret this experience. It will open your heart and mind while filling your photo album with magical moments!

I had the most amazing trip to Tehri & Kanatal with All Seasons. My first time travelling with them, so wasn't sure what to expect. Tehri and All Seasons both exceeded my expectations, a real trip of a lifetime. Our Manager was a true professional, very knowledgable and always on hand to assist, he helped to make the trip so special. Its was such good value for the cost, I saw all the main sights I had wanted to, and so many more. I would definitely travel with All Seasons again.

Tour itself was excellent but when the going got tough, All Seasons helped us beyond limit . We encountered a vehicle issue (due to collison on route from delhi to nainital at Gajraula ) and was stuck up in highway restaurant for nearly 6 hrs. During the frustrating period not only did All Seasons respond in a timely fashion but when they tried best to arrange a alternate vehicle which i understand was not easy and they assisted us which helped us to remain calm. Fortunately was arranged lately and we reached our Hotel Naini Retreat late night and rest of the trip went like a dream where all arrangements where above our expectations. A very satisfacotry family vacation overall.

Hotels sites were excellent except Clarks residences. Experience with driver very bad. Rash driving, arrogance and adamant. No customer respect.

Yes we reached safely, thank you very much of all arrangements, Vehicle arrnagement and Driver ( Nandan) was very nice person polite, prompt and humble. Hotel choices were good, foods was excellent at all places. Heritage hotel and Justa inn was best choices among all.
