Kalpavriksha

Kalpavriksha is considered as one of the oldest trees in the country and is believed to be around 1,200 years old. According to folklore, Adi Guru Shri Sankaracharya used this spot for meditation. The circumference of the tree is estimated to be about 21.5 m and there is a small temple beneath the tree adding a distinct kind of spiritual aura to the place. A cave located nearby is also quite popular among tourists where the saint is believed to be inhabited.

Bhavishya Kedar

As per legends and local belief, one day the Kedarnath temple will disappear along with Badrinath temple, and Lord Kedar will be worshiped in Bhavishya Kedar. Currently, this temple have a very small Shivling. It is believed that a massive landslide will block the route to the Kedarnath Temple. Bhavishya Badri Temple

The Bhavishya Badri is located at 2,744 mts. amidst the thick forests surrounding Tapovan. According to a divination, it is here that all devotees will throng once Badrinath is no more. While there can be no conceivable reason why this should happen, scientists agree that Joshimath, the entry point into the area before the final, most strenuous climb, is sited on an ancient landslide and has been sinking, and with a barrage coming up close by, may actually see the fulfillment of the divine prophecy.

Narsingh temple

The temple is about 1200 years old. Dedicated to Vishnu, the presiding deity of the temple is Narsimha, the half-man, half-lion and fourth incarnation of Vishnu. Like Joshimath, he is also sitting in the sukhasana. The characteristic feature of the deity is that its left wrist is very thin and is getting thinner by the day. At the beginning of every winter, the deity from the Joshimath temple is brought in a procession and kept in this temple for 6 months.

Shri Shankracharya Math

This math was established by Adi Shankaracharya and it is one of the four cardinal institutes in India situated in the north. The Math houses the temples of Lord Badrinarayan and Rajrajeshwari Devi. Vasudeva Temple

This Temple of Lord Vasudeva is situated some 30 yards away from the temple of Lord Narasimha. The presiding deity here is Vasudeva who is identified with Lord Vishnu. It is one of the most famous Vishnu temples of north India. It was considered very sacred by the ‘Alavars’, the Tamil Vaishnavite Saints. The deity’s idol here is carved out of a piece of black stone, measuring 6 feet in height.

Excellently planned and executed

Our honeymoon in Uttarakhand was wonderfully planned and executed. We were taken care of every step of the way. Mr. Dev talked to us before planning the itinerary, and everything was put together wonderfully. There were great activities and excursions planned that fit our tastes. There was also adequate free time to explore on our own. In all, having the honeymoon planned by a professional was certainly worth it.
