The three week long Nanda Devi Raj Jat is one of the world's famous pilgrimages/ festivals of Uttarakhand in India. People from entire Garhwal division-Kumaon division as well as other parts of India and the world participate in Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra.[2] Goddess Nanda Devi is worshipped at dozens of places in Kumaon and garhwal, but the region around Mt. Nanda Devi and its sanctuary, which falls in the Pithoragarh district, Almora district and Chamoli district, is the prime area related to Nanda Devi. In Chamoli Nanda Devi Raj Jaat is organized once in 12 years. The Jaat starts from Nauti village near Karnprayag and goes up to the heights of Roopkund and Homekund with a four horned sheep. After the havan - yagna is over, the sheep is freed with decorated ornaments, food and clothing’s and the other offerings are discarded.
An annual annual Nanda Jaat is also celebrated. The Raj Jaat procession goes through villages, where there is a recogniszed Nanda Devi temple. At Koti a night halt of the participants takes place where a night long worship and celebrations takes place.
Though in the Johar Valley region there is no tradition of Nanda Raj Jaat but the worship, dance and the ritual of collecting Bramhakamal (it is called Kaul Kamphu) is part of Nanda festivals. The Nanda Devi fair is held at Almora, Nainital, Kot (Dangoli), Ranikhet, Bhowali, Kichha and also in the far flung villages of lohar (like Milam and Martoli) and Pindar valleys (like Wachham and Khati). In the villages of the Pinder valley people celebrate the Nanda Devi Jaat (journey) every year, while in lohar people come from far and wide to Danadhar, Suring, Milam and Martoli in order to worship the Goddess. In Nainital and Almora thousands take part in the procession carrying the dola (or litter) of Nanda Devi. It is said that the Nanda Devi fairs started in Kumaon during the reign of Kalyan Chand in the 16th Century. A three day fair is held at Kot ki mai or Kot bhramari devi. The fair at Saneti comes every second year. Both these fairs are rich in folk expressions and many village products are brought for sale.

Fantastic trip and we enjoyed every moment of it. Tanuja did a great job working with us to understand our needs and create the perfect itinerary for us. We had very specific requests and Tanuja was incredibly patient with us, making multiple changes to the itinerary. She was also very responsive to email, oftentimes responding in less than 12 hrs. When we had 1 small glitch with scheduling during our travel, she fixed the problem right away. Overall, a well planned schedule with a good balance of tours and free time with excellent choice of hotel locations. Our trip went smooth. We had a great time. Our agent Mr. Arun and his team were very responsive and flexible. They were able to arrange everything for our 2 week trip in less than a month and within the budget we gave them. We don't have any complaints.....Thanks Allseasonsz!!!
The staff with the company were very friendly and honest with their recommendations. The itinerary was well planned, with good mix of free time and touring. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly without having to worry at all with the planning. .
We recently completed a 12 Days trip to Uttarakhand. The exeperience was mixed, had to change the room in Mussoorie hotel Green N Breeze as the size was vey small and our family could hardly fit in and faced issues regarding going to Lal Tibba and Landour as the taxi we hired from the company refused to go there citing the local txi union issues and we have to pay INR 2000 from our pocket.The Jim Corbett safari was average as there was no tiger spooting though our driver Nandan tried his best to take us around the different spots where we could spot one.We again faced the challenge during the room changing in Hotel Ashdale Nainital as the room allocated was facing the back wall of the garden and in the process wasted our precious 4-5 hrs.
All Seasons helpdesk persons Ravi & Saurabh and tried their best to resolve all the issues we faced but in the whole process we wasted the significant amount of time during our trip.
