The old temple has been dated to 9th century and has been conserved. Apart from the religious significance, the temple is an architectural marvel and has been known to withstand earthquakes within the last few centuries.The Judges Court in Kangra is located near the ornamental village tank of Pragpur and is surrounded by fruit orchards that grow litchi, mangos, grape, plum, parsimmon and citrus fruits. This rambling 300 year old ancestral property was the residence of Justice Sir Jai la of Kangra. It has seven rooms, a private suite and a gorgeous view of the mountains.Nadaun palace the former capital of King Sansar Chand is popular for its murals. It is located on the bank of River Beas and is a popular spot for picnics and day trips. Nadaun is 48 km away from Kangra.The temple of Chamunda Devi is located 10 km west of Palampur, on the Baner River. The sacred site is called Chamunda Nandik-eshwar. The temple enshrines an enraged form of Durga, which is entirely hidden beneath a red cloth.The Shiva temple at Katgarh is popular and‚Â is located at the border of Kangra District. The temple preserves a human-size which is vertically split into two parts.The ruins of the Kangra Fort are located on a strategic height overlooking the Manjhi River and Ban Ganga River. The remains of the Kangra fort are still a dominating feature of the Kangra Valley. Mohammed Ghazni occupied the Kangra Fort in 1009 AD and at that time the place was called Bhima Nagar, after the name of Bhima, one of the Pandavas.
