Govindghat is nestled in the lap of snow-capped peaks of Garhwal Himalayas, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, near the world famous religious shrine of Govindghat. At an altitude of 2,500 to 3,050 m above sea level, Govindghat’s well-dressed slopes are flanked by coniferous and oak forests, which offer a panoramic view of mountains.

Participants are advised to bring heavy woolen clothings like caps, socks, gloves, mufflers, pullovers, trousers, wind proof jackets, dark glasses, gum / snow boots and a torch for personal use.GMVN conducts 7 and 14 days skiing courses at Govindghat and special provisions for day tourists are also available. Ski training is given by qualified ski instructors.Bugyal in the local language means "high altitude meadow".
The road to Dayara Bugyal branches off near Bhatwari a place on Uttarkashi-Gangotri road about 28 km from Uttarkashi. Vehicles can go up to the village of Barsu from where one has to trek a distance of about 8 km to reach Dayara and other route is via village Raithal, 10 km from Bhatwari, from where one has to trek about 6 km to Dayara Bugyal. Situated at an elevation of about 3048 m, this vast meadow is second to none in natural beauty. During winter it provides excellent ski slopes over an area of 28 sq km. The panoramic view of the Himalayas from here is breathtaking. Presently accommodation is available at Bhatwari and some villager's huts may also be used by professional skiers.

Everyone who was to meet with us did. Everyone was very helpful, especially the guides whose knowledge of their area was phenomenal. Tasting local food and refreshments and the accommodations in small interesting hotels is the most enjoyable and memorable part of the trip.

This travel agency put together an amazing itinerary for a week in Uttarakhand for our family. We planned this trip without a lot of lead time and our travel agency was quick to respond and made sure our needs, and the needs of our 2 year-old were taken care of. They booked wonderful centrally located boutique hotels in each of the cities we visited. We were looking for a relaxing week to explore Uttarakhand, and that is exactly what we had..

We had an unbelievable time in Uttarakhand this winter. Allseasonsz travel agency provided us with excellent hotels, located in the center of the cities, comfortable, and close to the main sights and trendy restaurants. The guides and drivers for our private tours were phenomenal - very knowledgable and well spoken. We have a family of 6, so they arranged transportation for us in a private van, which was beyond convenient! Lastly, they added stops to our itinerary, that I myself would not have chosen. But those spots ended up being some of our favorite places to see! Our travel agency was also extremely flexible in working with us - they respected our desire to have some downtime with the family, as well as making reservations for us at wonderful restaurants!
