  • The trip was fabulous. Shimla is an amazing place with lots to see and do. Our tour operator was excellent. All of their suggestions and recommendations were solid. We loved our hotel and the location. All the tours were high-quality and we experienced no difficulties with pickups. Mr. Nitin was extremely pleasant to work with and truly wanted us to have a fabulous time.

  • We cannot recommend this travel company enough! My husband and I had been wanting to go to India for quite some time but had not done so due to lack of time to plan a worthwhile trip. Booking with this company was exactly what we needed--we told them the types of places and sites we wanted to see and they took care of the rest.

  • I got exactly the vacation I wanted for almost no work and probably cheaper than I could have done it myself. I told this travel company what I wanted and they just did the rest. The hotels and tours/activities were great! Couldn't have asked for more. Great service too they were very responsive and helpful!

Being renowned pilgrimage and adventure destination in India, Rishikesh has always been considered safe for tourists.Locals tell us it’s wise to take the same precautions as in any big city. Keep an eye on your belongings, don’t accept drinks from strangers, and be aware of your surroundings, especially when walking at night. It's good to get local advice, especially when traveling solo! Many of our Uttarakhand trip planners are women who can explain how they keep safe.

Discover the best shopping in Rishikesh. Whether you’re looking for pooja essentials and religious items, idols of Indian Gods, oils and authentic rudrakshas, fun souvenirs or the perfect gift, there’s a wealth of Rishikesh shopping to enjoy. • 3. Ram Jhula Market with many local stores and stalls selling local spices, juices, muraabas, artificial jwellery there is plenty more to discover in this famous market

For first-time visitors, I recommend spending at least 2-3 days in Rishikesh. This should give you sufficient time to get acquainted with the city, see the main landmarks, and visit a few attractions. Also, don't try to see everything. This is simply not possible and will leave you tired and frustrated. Plan to visit no more than two or three bigger attractions every day and leave some time for unexpected discoveries.

A significant part of almost all Rishikesh tour packages is white-water rafting on a gushing Ganges. The white-water rafting season commences in February and lasts till June, and then it reopens in September and goes on till the mid of December. The various rafting launch points include Shivpuri, Kaudiyala, Brahmapuri and Marine Drive. The classification of these rafting spots depends on the grade of rapids they cover and your comfort level in riding them. Brahmapuri is a 9 kilometre stretch of choppy Ganges, Shivpuri 14 kilometre, Marine Drive 24 kilometre and Kaudiyala pans 34 kilometre of the most treacherous stretch of the river with rapids of highest level of difficulty.

Before you begin shortlisting Rishikesh travel packages, you should know the kind of weather you would be encountering there. Rishikesh's location on the Himalayan foothills with the Ganges flowing by it lends it a pleasant to cool climate year round. Summer season lasts from March to June when the maximum temperature is 35 degree Celsius and the minimum 20 degree Celsius. The monsoon sets in from June and lasts till September cooling down the overall weather. Late October to February are the winter months with December and January recording the lowest temperatures. But Rishikesh doesn't get any snow.

Since Rishikesh's new-found status as the 'yoga capital of the world', a host of snug cafes and restaurants have come up that serve all-day breakfast, salad meals, vegan sandwiches, porridge, along with German bakeries with their fluffy, buttery croissants, buns, cheesecakes and coffee. The Laxman Jhula Road is lined up with some chic and ambient cafes with a rather eclectic offering for its ever-surging international clientele. These include Little Buddha Cafe, Beatles Cafe, Ramana's Organic Cafe, Pumpernickel German Bakery, Honey Hut to name a few. Don't leave without trying the yak's cheese sandwich.

Some of the adventure activities you can pursue in Rishikesh aside from the very popular white-water rafting include cliff jumping, body surfing, kayaking, flying fox, and rappelling among others to give you just the right dose of adrenaline.

Yes, there are ample ATMs in Rishikesh; these include ones by the State Bank of India, IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, Union Bank of India, Canara Bank among others.
