Kathgodam is a town in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state of India. It is part of the twin township of Kathgodam-Kathgodam, and is immediately north of Kathgodam.
Situated close to Kathgodam are beautiful temples called 'Sheetla devi' and 'Kalichaud' which attract large numbers of devotees from the surrounding region during festivals. Kathgodam also leads a way to one of the beautiful ashram called as Hairakhan.There is a beautiful dam which is built on the Gola River.

1. Nainital
Nainital is a popular hill station in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and headquarters of Nainital district in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. Situated at an altitude of 2,084 metres (6,837 ft) above sea level, Nainital is set in a valley containing a pear-shaped lake, approximately two miles in circumference, and surrounded by mountains, of which the highest are Naina (2,615 m (8,579 ft)) on the north, Deopatha (2,438 m (7,999 ft)) on the west, and Ayarpatha (2,278 m (7,474 ft)) on the south.
2. Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India. The park-named for the hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment-was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. Situated in Nainital district of Uttarakhandthe park acts as a protected area for the endangered Bengal tiger of India, the secure survival of which is the main objective of Project Tiger, an Indian wildlife protection initiative.
3. Hanuman Garhi
This place is of religious importance. Situated at a height of 1951 meters this place was established by Baba Neem Kiroli. A very beautiful Hanuman mandir is at the top. From Hanuman Garhi watching the Sunset is very soothing. You can walk down fromNainital to Hanuman Garhi.
4. Naukuchiatal
Nakuchia Tal is a lake in Nainital, known for having nine corners. This lake is still untouched by majority of the tourist population and owing to this, has managed to maintain its serenity till date. Take a walk around the nine cornered lake to enjoy the beautiful natural setting. Otherwise, you can also go on a boating tour and explore the scenic surroundings.
5. Bhowali
Bhowali is a town and a municipal board in Nainital District in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It lies close to Ghorakhal, known for Golu Devta temple and Sainik School Ghorakhal.
6. Nainital Zoo
Pt. G.B. Pant High Altitude Zoo is a high altitude zoo situated in Nainital, Uttarakhand. Established in 1984 and opened to public in 1995, it is situated on the Sher Ka Danda hill at a height of 2,100 metres (6,900 ft) above sea-level and is spread over 4.6 hectares (11 acres). It is the only High Altitude Zoo in north India, besides those in Darjeeling and Sikkim. Over the years it has become a popular tourist attractions

Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) is one of the leading research Institutes which specializes in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Atmospheric Sciences. An autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, the institute is situated at Manora Peak 1,951 m (6,401 ft)), about 9 km from Nainital, a popular hill station in Uttarakhand, India. The astronomical observatory is open to public during working days at afternoons, for night viewing however, three four days on moonlight nights are fixed and prior permission is needed.
8. Ghorakhal
Ghorakal is the place situated in the Nainital district of the Uttarakhand state of India. Ghorakhal means pond for water to horses. It is the picturesque site at the height of more than 2000 mts.It is situated near Bhowali and is the seat for Army school, known as Sainik School Ghorakhal, established in 1966 at the Ghorakhal Estate of the Nawab of Rampur. The famous Golu Devta temple is situated on a hill above overlooking the school..
9. Kainchi Dham
This famous Hanuman Mandir was constructed in sixties by Neem Karoli Baba a famous mystic and saintof India. His followers are throughout the world.Millions of people visit this place.
10. Kaladhungi
Kaladhungi is a town and a nagar panchayat in Nainital district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The place is located just on the foothill, a good climate but summers are hot, located 26 km west of Kathgodam on the Kathgodam-Ramanagar road. Nainital is at distance of only 30 km to the north and Bazpur at about 19 km to south. It has a road connecting to Delhi via Bazpur, Tanda and Moradabad.
