Kedarnath and Badrinath temples remain open from April till November.However best time to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath is May, June, September and October.The whole area is covered with snow in winters and temples remains closed.It is advisable to avoid travelling in July, August as the area is prone to landslides with high chances of road blockage in rainy season.

Kedarnath is a town located in Rudraprayag district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand and has gained importance because of Kedarnath Temple.The most remote of the four Char Dham sites, Kedarnath is located in the Himalayas at about 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above sea level near Chorabari Glacier, the head of river Mandakini, and is flanked by breathtaking snow-capped peaks.The nearest road head is at Gaurikund, at a distance of 16.5 kms.The town suffered extensive destruction during June 2013 from flash floods caused by torrential rains in Uttarakhand state.

Gaurikund to Kedarnath Palki charges is INR 4250 (up to 65 kg) and INR 4850 (65 to 90 kg) one way.
Gaurikund to Kedarnath Pony charges it is INR 2000 one way.
Kedarnath from Gaurikund by road is 22 Kms trek and takes 6-7 hours normally one way.
The temple opens on Akshaya Tritiya (April end or first week of May) and closes on Bhai Duj (October end or 1st week of November) due to heavy snowfall and extreme cold weather during winter.Gaurikund is 75 km from Rudraprayag.In between Rudraprayag and Kedarnath there are several places of pilgrimage such as Agastyamuni, Ukhimath, Phauli- Pasalat Devi Maa, Bamsu (Lamgoundi) Vanasur, Maa Jwalamukhi Devi village Andarwari, Maa Chandika Devi village lwara, Maa Kali at Kalimath, Trijugi Narayan (7 km from Son Prayag) (Where Lord Shankar got married to Goddess Parwati from when the fire of hawan kund is still alive) and Kashi Vishwanath at Guptakashi.Udar Kund is located here. It is written in Kedar Khand of Shiva purana that the water of Udak Kund is mixture of all the 5 Oceans and always remain fresh even when kept for many years. The holy water of Udak Kund is used for purification rituals. Hans Kund, Bharo Nath, Navdurga Mandir, Shankaracharya Samadhi, Ishaneswar Mahadev Temple, Ret Kund, Panch Ganga Sangam, Chaurwari Taal now known as Gandhi Sarowar, Bashuki Taal are also places to visit here.

Our guides made an incredible experience better than anything I could have imagined. I wish I could tell them how much this experience has meant to us but there are not the words for it. Jim Corbett and Nanda Devi National Park were contrast at every turn, the people were warm and welcoming while we saw and experienced a life that we had no idea about. I had the most amazing trip to Tehri & Kanatal with All Seasons. My first time travelling with them, so wasn't sure what to expect. Tehri and All Seasons both exceeded my expectations, a real trip of a lifetime. Our Manager was a true professional, very knowledgable and always on hand to assist, he helped to make the trip so special. Tour itself was excellent but when the going got tough, All Seasons helped us beyond limit . We encountered a vehicle issue (due to collison on route from delhi to nainital at Gajraula ) and was stuck up in highway restaurant for nearly 6 hrs. During the frustrating period not only did All Seasons respond in a timely fashion but when they tried best to arrange a alternate vehicle which i understand was not easy and they assisted us which helped us to remain calm. Fortunately was arranged lately and we reached our Hotel Naini Retreat late night and rest of the trip went like a dream where all arrangements where above our expectations. A very satisfacotry family vacation overall.
