About Nainital:-

Nainital is the popular hill station and resort town in the Indian State of Uttarakhand and district headquater of Nainital district placed on the Kumaon foothills of outer Himalayas. Rain occurs during the month of July-August and can sometime rain whole day which results in blocking of routes, but rapid action by administration clears the road soon. Winters are chilly in Nainital and temperature varies from maximum 15 �C to below zero. Snowfall occurs between the months of December and February.

Nainital derived it name from a Nain-tal (Lake of eyes) and is believed to be one of 64 Shakti Peeths. Goddess Naina Devi temple is built on the place where eyes of the goddess Sati fell when Lord was carrying her body after she set herself ablaze.

Nainital Attraction/things to see in Nainital/:-

Naini Lake is pear shaped Lake 2 miles in circumference is the main attraction in Nainital. Nainital is divided into two parts named Mallital and Tallital by Naini Lake. Mallital is northern shore of the lake and Tallital is Southern shore of the Lake. Boating on Naini Lake is popular activity among people visiting Nainital in fancy colored Boats.

Mall Road is 2 km long road running parallel to the Naini Lake on the eastern side, constructed during British Rule. Mall Road Connects the both ends of the town, Mallital and Tallital. Sattal is set in the midst of lush green forest and is one of the few unspoiled and unpolluted freshwater ecosystem in India. Many species of migratory birds visit Sattal every year.

Naukuchiatal is a secluded and peaceful tourist destination 6 km from Bhimtal, deepest lake in India. Naukuchiatal is a nine cornered lake surrounded by hills covered in trees and shrubs.
