Naina Devi Temple, name "NAINA" which implicate eye is upbringed from a temple to the Maa 'Naini Devi" constructed on the northern edge of the lake and was annihilated by the landslide of 1880. Goddess Naina Devi is the presiding diety of Naina Devi Temple represented by eyes. It is believed that temple is constructed on the place where eyes of Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying the body of her after she set herself on fire when Daksh(father of Sati) insulted them by not inviting to fore ceremony.
Tiffin Top is located at altitude of 2290 meters in the Ayarpatta region of Nainital. Tiffin top can be reached by a small easy trek of 4km and offer amazing views of Nainital town Himalayas. The trip to Tiffin Top has its own charm and beauty. One can also hire a horse to visit Tiffin Top.
